Eddi Kewley was founder and director of Kenthurst Galleries for 28 years. She emigrated to Australia in 1969 and paints in acrylic and oils. Her works are represented in private collections in USA, UK and Australia.
Kewley studied Archaeology and Paleo Anthropology at UNE and Visual art and design. She has had several solo exhibitions including Mary Place Gallery Paddington, Glenmore Galleries Paddington and Kenthurst Galleries, Kenthurst.
She has been a finalist in the Mosman Art Prize and Olive Cotton Photographic Award. Her works strongly reference the Australian landscape with emphasis on its peculiar characteristics. She is captivated by the effect of light and shadow on the landscape. Most of her paintings relate to trips taken and places remembered.
